This
Is Your
Day
Mission
is accomplished
All time
is standing
still
Count
the soldiers
out
And count
them back
in again.
The outlook
is clear
All doors
and windows
closed
We were
young
once
Growing
out of
our clothes
Every
shoulder
takes
the weight
And this
is your
day
And it
is your
day
Every
shoulder
takes
the weight
And this
is your
day
This is
your day
Uncovered
the line,
onward
drawn
We walked
together
, together
to the
dawn
Where
were the
Kings
and where
were the
Queens
To wear
this happy
day?
Every
shoulder
takes
the weight
And this
is your
day
And this
is your
day
I miss
the feel
of your
hand in
mine
These
shoes
of mine
will be
through
soon
And I
remember
when I
drove
out late
at night
In case
I might
, in case
I might
Mission

Background
A definite
positive
song,
about
community,
shared
responsibility,
and individual
hope.
Also passing
reference
to someone
from the
past,
fondly
remembered. |

Was
I A Boy?
I met
up with
the darkness,
sat at
my side
Those
that were
listening,
took their
eyes off
the fire
They looked
over to
me
Goodness
and gracefulness
burning
there
O! listening
out
And why
does the
wood become
dangerous
now?
And why
do the
creatures
all bury
themselves?
What do
I keep
in my
hands
What do
I do with
this?
I met
up with
the starlight
under
my shoe,
Those
who remember
would
remember
this too
They looked
over to
me
softness
and wickedness
alive
in there
O! listening
out
And why
does the
world
become
dangerous
now?
And why
do the
children
all bury
themselves?
What do
I keep
in my
hands
What do
I do with
this?
Was I
a boy
Small
Was I
a boy
at all
Anytime
in my
life
Shine
in the
light
Is anyone
there
inside?
Is anyone
there
inside?
O! listening
out
And why
does the
world
become
dangerous
now?
And why
do the
children
all bury
themselves?
What do
I keep
in my
hands
What do
I do with
this?
Was I
a boy
Small
Was I
a boy
at all
Anytime
in my
life
Shine
in the
light
Is anyone
there
inside?
Is anyone
there
inside?
Background
Seen from
the eyes
of a killer.
At what
point
did it
change,
was I
born like
this?
His/her
inability
to grasp
the scale
of their
actions
“
why do
the children
all bury
themselves?”
and at
what point
did those
around
realise
something
is wrong.
Is it
a part
of us
all, and
how thin
is the
line we
walk?

Clock
Prison
Lock the
lock
Untie
the tie
And leave
me here
to die
In my
own time
Live the
life
Lose the
life
Leave
me here
to die
In my
own time
I am a
victim
of my
own crime
I wear
the day
like a
snare
And it
has cut
me to
the bone
it has
left me
at the
post
suspended
like a
rag doll
let of
blood,
I leave
my history
at the
door
Make the
seal
Break
the key
Leave
me here
to die
In my
own time
Fit the
hood
And make
it tight
Leave
me here
to die
In my
own time
Swimming
up towards
the sunlight
Swimming
down away
from daylight
So this
is how
its made
me
This how
I’ve
become
Nothing
like I
really
am
Nothing
like I
really
am
Swimming
up towards
the sunlight
Swimming
down away
from the
daylight
So this
is how
its made
me
This how
I’ve
become
Nothing
like I
really
am
Nothing
like I
really
am
Background
‘Losing
Today
‘
called
this song
“
sapping,
but gem-like”,
which
is a great
compliment.
It is
deliberately
slow,
morose,
and defeatist.
It is
surely
how we
all feel
from time
to time,
particularly
in an
unrewarding
job/situation,
or am
I just
plain
miserable. |

All
And For
One
No
day like
today
I am going
away
Your love
will not
make me
stay
This button
is broken
The words
left unspoken
And I
am undone
and alone
The last
of the
meal is
uneaten
our clothes
like a
shroud
on the
rail
The water
is cloudy
and bitter
For all
and for
one we
have failed
No day
like today
I am going
away
And nothing
will make
me stay
The promise
is spoken
The trust
is a token
And I
am the
sword
and the
stone
The holiday
was never
taken
Our feet
never
ran in
the sea
We never
enjoyed
once the
warm days
For all
and for
one I
have failed
No day
like today
Let me
go
Your love
will not
make me
stay
These
windows
we opened
Are always
left open
And I
am undone
and alone
Tonight
this is
only my
home
Tonight
this is
only my
home
Background
Started
life as
a major
thrash,
but slowly
came back
to a jaunty
tale of
failed
relationships.
But is
it written
from the
perspective
of the
person
who is
going
to do
something
about
it, or
the person
who will
go on
accepting
it because
they are
afraid
of the
consequence
of change?
The line
“our
clothes,
like a
shroud
on the
rail”
is one
of my
favourites.
