Smile
Good to
see the
smile
back on
your face
Good to
see it
again.
The night
has now
moved
over the
town,
Christmas
lights
are on.
It was
good to
see a
different
scene,
Something
new and
whole
again.
I was
so glad
to see
you smile
Fill me
to the
brim again
Where
are the
angels
we were
looking
for?
This sudden
disappearing
sky.
Where
are the
answers
we are
waiting
for?
Do you
know the
truth,
is it
coming
close
to you?
Good to
see the
smile
back on
my face
The lines
they are
still
there.
But I
can see
the lines
are everywhere,
And it
won’t
touch
me again
Where
are the
angels
we were
looking
for?
This sudden
disappearing
sky.
Where
are the
answers
we are
waiting
for?
Do you
know the
truth,
is it
coming
close
to you?
Background
The words
and music
for this
almost
happened
together,
but the
whole
point
was to
write
something
uplifting,
for someone
at the
end of
a pretty
poor run
of luck.
Like a
lot of
UB songs
it’s
about
hope in
times
of adversity.
It also
means
when those
around
us are
happy,
it is
hoped
we will
be happy
ourselves.
The line
“the
lines
they are
still
there….but
I can
se the
lines
are everywhere”
refers
to getting
older. |

Image
In my
dreams,
one day
all of
this will
be gone
And then
thankful,
I can
lay my
little
head down
Sure that
no more
will the
suffering
go on,
Its not
the suffering
of mine,
but of
all
In all
of this
time
No arm
No leg
In my
dreams
this planet
is still
blue,
Blue with
rich oceans,
teeming
rivers.
Savannah
dry, deep
mud and
dead glaciers
And no
one footprint
to soil
it or
not one
face to
spoil
it
Could
we cast
back the
stone?
Evolution.
Man and
machine
In my
dreams,
one day
all of
this will
be gone
And then
thankful,
I can
lay my
little
head down
No arm
No leg
No arm
No leg
No arm
No leg
No arm
No leg
No arm
No leg
Background
Started
off being
called
‘in
my image’
and is
quite
direct,
quite
negative
song really
about
our wilful
destruction
of our
habitat,
the world
we live
in.
Would
it be
better
if we’d
never
evolved?
Particularly
like the
instrumentation
on this,
and had
fun with
overdubs..first
use of
echo on
chorus.
Its quite
nice sometimes
to sort
of, let
go.. |
